Goran Dragic Teared Up When Drazen Petrovic’s Mother Gave Him Drazen’s Jersey
Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic was just named the MVP of this year’s FIBA Eurobasket. Not only that, he also won the title with Slovenia.
After his biggest success in an international tournament, Dragic retired from Slovenian National Team.
Now, Biserka Petrovic, former NBA star Drazen Petrovic’s mother, gave Drazen’s New Jersey Nets jersey as a gift for Dragic. Petrovic, who is a member of the Basketball Hall Of Fame, was one of the league’s best shooting guards and one of the best shooters ever. He also is one of the reasons that there are so many European players in today’s NBA. Tragically Petrovic’s career and life were cut short after he died in a car accident at the age of 28.
Petrovic was an idol for many European kids and players, and also the idol of Goran Dragic. When receiving the gift Goran said:
“It is one of the most beautiful gifts I’ve ever received in my life. He was my idol. We all know what he did for Yugoslavia and the basketball world. It was a great honor for me to wear the jersey no.3”
There are no English subtitles available, but you do not need any words to see Dragic’s emotional reaction anyways.
