The Sacramento Kings Wish Anthony Tolliver A Happy Birthday, Then Fire Him
The Sacramento Kings continue to remind people, that they are amog the worst franchises in this league. This time, it even may have been the most indelicate action of the season.
First, they wished their forward Anthony Tolliver a happy birthday.
Then, they waived him later that day. On his BIRTHDAY! Anthony Tolliver had a June 1 trigger date to guarantee his contract for next season, but they easily could have done this a week earlier. But on his birthday? That’s just blundering. Tolliver averaged 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists this season for the Kings. The Kings will now only take a $2 million cap hit instead of the $8 million they would have taken with Tolliver.
