Kyrie Irving Could Be Championship Difference Maker
Everyone is talking about the talent in Golden State and rightly so, but many have forgotten the continued growth and upward spiral of Kyrie Irving, who can potentially go a long way to evening the playing field.
If Kyrie continues to develop the way we are projecting him to, even though talent will still heavily favor the Warriors, but the gap is bridged closer.
After coming off an incredible NBA Finals series, and with an entire preseason under his belt (unlike last year), if Irving continues to excel on both sides of the ball, he could make this season a very intriguing one.
You then add the dynamic pieces of Kevin Love, JR Smith, the improvement of Shumpert (who has lost 12 pounds coming into training camp and has reportedly been working tirelessly on his game) as well emerging talent Jordan McRae and possibly bringing in Deandre Liggins, the Cavs not only improve in scoring, but improve athletically and defensively with length on the perimeter.
We all saw what he could do on the NBA’s biggest stage. If Kyrie can continue to grow the way we are expecting and continuing to evolve into the superstar and MVP type talent we want to see, the Cavs edge that little bit closer to repeating.
He could be a very real difference maker, like all great dynamic scorers are.
