Wizards’ Crowd Cheered Even Though They Lost, Winning Free Chick-fil-A Sandwiches

First of all, free food is always great!

During the Wizards’ loss against the San Antonio Spurs, the fans started to cheer. Washington was down 111-98, without really having a chance to win the game in the last few seconds, as Spurs guard Dejounte Murray went to the line.  After he missed the first free throw, fans started to stand up. Murray also missed the second free throw and the Wizards’ home crowd started to cheer.

What? Why? The Wizards teamed up with Chick-fil-A and all fans in attendance win free sandwiches if an opposing player misses both free throws. The game was already out of reach, so the Washington fans at least got free food and left the arena happy nontheless.

When the crowed won free sandwiches last season, during a win, John Wall said that the fans seem to be more excited for a free chicken sandwich than a win. I think he might be right…
