Derrick Rose, The Phenom
Derrick Rose will likely never return to the level of play that saw him become the leagues youngest MVP in NBA history, but Rose looks far from done.
After undergoing through what seems like countless injury setbacks, Rose has taken the new challenge in New York head on this past season. He has brought some excitement back to the Big Apple.
Now, for this new season, Rose will be helping the Cavaliers to fulfill their quest to bring the Larry O’Brien back to Cleveland. Even though Rose isn’t the star he used to be, Cavs fans were hyped, the minute Rose’s signing was made public.
For some reason, despite his injuries and setbacks, which led to him not reaching his MVP playing level again, people throughout the league and especially NBA fans still adore him. He was one of the most feared offensive players in the association, and now remains a solid fan favorite throughout NBA fan bases.
It’s never a bad thing to have a healthy Rose on your team, but I believe NBA fans want him to succeed so badly because of what he’s been through. I think it’s fair to say that Rose’s struggles throughout his career is relatable with the struggles individuals face in their everyday life. He is a perfect example of not giving up, and I truly believe people can relate to that.
No matter what situation we are faced with in life, we always have to look for a way to fight, and NBA fans sympathize with the journey Rose has undertaken in his career so far. It’s the ability of seeing someone overcome a difficult situation and come back that makes him a feel-good player around the association. Everyone wants Rose to succeed, and rightly so.
Let’s hope Rose can continue to stay healthy and dazzle us every night. He may never reach the heights we wanted to see for the entirety of his career, but he will remain the heart-warming story we can all lean on in times of need.
