Paul Day-To-Day With Hamstring Injury

For the first time this season, the Los Angeles Clippers could be without starting point guard Chris Paul when they meet the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center on Friday.

The 31-year-old Paul left Thursday’s game against San Antonio during the third quarter for an apparent injury. The team revealed that Paul suffered ”a strained left hamstring.”

However, Paul and head coach Doc Rivers weren’t concerned afterwards; a minor hamstring injury is common amongst NBA players.

“I’m OK,” Paul said. “I’m glad I caught it when I did.”

‘I don’t think it’s bad, but I don’t think you know with a hamstring until the next day,” admitted Rivers.

According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Rivers indicated that his Paul is considered day-to-day.

Paul is averaging 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds along with 9.6 assists in 31.5 minutes per game on the season.

The Los Angeles Clippers currently stand 3rd in the Western Conference with a 22-8 record. Paul’s day-to-day absence won’t affect the team too much, but guards like Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford, and JJ Redick must step up in his place.
