Wade, Knee Questionable Against Cleveland

Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to swelling in his left knee. In Chicago’s 118-111 win over the Charlotte Hornets Monday, Wade sat out because of the knee injury.

Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg says Wade’s health has improved since, but is still not feeling 100%.
”He’s feeling better,” Hoiberg said, as quoted by ESPN. ”Swelling is down, we’ll make a determination on him [Wednesday] for the game. It will probably be all the way up ’til game time.”

Coach Hoiberg revealed he’s not that much worried about Wade as the three-time NBA champion takes good care of himself.

”[I’m] not concerned,” Hoiberg said. ”He gets it every year, he said, especially the last couple years. It’s a matter of maintaining his treatments and being diligent with it, which he’ll do. He’s done a great job of keeping his body in shape. At this stage of his career, he knows his body as well as anybody. He said in his mind, it’s not anything that will be around long-term.”

In addition to Wade, Denzel Valentine—a rookie guard out of Michigan State—will not be making the trip to Cleveland. The No. 14 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft sprained his left ankle against Charlotte.

So far in 2016-17, Dwyane Wade has missed three of Chicago’s 35 games played. Wade’s first two games missed were to rest the veteran from competing in back-to-backs early in the season; a common rest for players that have put in thousands of minutes in their careers. He’s averaging 18.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists so far during the campaign.
