Anthony Davis On DeMarcus Cousins Before The Trade
During and after the All Star Game, we heard rumors about this year’s first blockbuster trade, and got the rumors confirmed after the final buzzer had gone off.
‘DeMarcus Cousins will be traded to the New Orleans Pelicans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and a 2017 first and 2nd (Philly’s)’
Damn! Boogie and Davis on one team?! That’s exciting.
A reporter asked Anthony Davis about the rumors that the teams were supposedly talking about such a trade. Davis was asked on his opinion on Cousins and on the possibility of getting him to New Orleans. Davis answered:
“He’s a great player, dominant in this league, of course, with all the numbers he put up. But I haven’t heard anything. So I’m going to let the management, once again, do what they do, and when the time is right, they’ll come talk to me about it. Of course, DeMarcus is an elite player in this league.”
After the game, when the trade was official, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman was the first to get a reaction out of Davis who then said:
“This is an unbelievable weekend. All-Star MVP and now getting Boogie. It doesn’t get better than this.”
We will soon see the two Kentucky alumni play on one team. The opposing front courts in the league are scared already…
