Vince Carter Plans To Continue His Career And Play Next Season
He’s 40 years old, and he seems to be unbreakable. Vince Carter even admitted, that his body feels better now than it did when he was 25. Carter will be a free agent this summer, but has no intention to hang up his boots.
Before the start of this season, Vince Carter said that he wanted to play for two more years, and he now plans to stick with his statement.
According to realGM, Carter said:
“I said to myself ‘I want to play 15 years.’ I don’t know where I got that from. And then I got to 15 years and I kept going. I never capped it, but at the same time I’ve had a lot of players remind me of things I’ve said. I’m still saying ‘two more years and I’m done,'”
“I’m still saying ‘two more years and I’m done.’
“I sit here today and I think of when I was younger, at that 25 and the season was over, I felt awful.
“I could play three more rounds of basketball right now.”
Vince Carter played with the Memphis Grizzlies this season, averaging 8.0 points. He improved in the playoffs averaging 9.2 points. Carter seems to be happy in Memphis and does not plan to leave and sign somewhere else, not even to possibly chase a ring. In an interview with The Memphis Commercial Appeal, he said:
“I hear people say all the time, ‘Go chase the ring.’ That word ‘chase’ is tough for me. I’m comfortable here, my family is comfortable here, we’re building something exciting and great and I enjoy going to work with these guys every day.”
The way the he has played this season, I absolutely want Carter to come back for at least another season, to prove to everyone that he will always be half man, half amazing.
