Gordon Hayward Apparently Told The Jazz He Wanted To Play With Ricky Rubio
Last night, Gordon Hayward said that he will sleep on his decision whether to stay in Utah, go to Boston or Miami, and let the world know about his decision on July 4.
Apparently, trading for Ricky Rubio could end up being a good move in Utah’s plan to re-sign Hayward. According to various sources, Gordon Hayward asked the Jazz to trade for Rubio.

Trading for Rubio will end up being a great move for the Jazz if Hayward decides to leave, too. But they now have become more attractive for Hayward to re-sign, due to the acquisition of Rubio. He would still be the top dog and go-to player in Utah. He also would be the top dog in Miami, while also playing in a weaker conference. That weaker Eastern Conference would be his new home, if he signed with the Boston Celtics, too, where he would not be the top dog instantly, maybe even for as long as Isaiah Thomas remains a Celtic. But, he would have the opportunity, to reach the Conference Finals, possibly even more. This definitely would not be possible if he signed with Miami, or Utah.
According to the ‘Desert News’, the Jazz did a great job making their case in their meeting with Hayward, to which Ricky Rubio flew in from Spain in order to make his case for him to stay.
We will find out about his decision later today.
