‘Beat Kyrie’s Ass’? – LeBron James And Kyrie Irving Met In Person This Past Weekend
After Kyrie Irving requsted a trade, Stephen A. Smith claimed to have sources that LeBron wanted to ‘beat Kyrie’s ass’.
“I’ve had sources in LeBron James’ camp literally tell me, and I’m quoting—I’m quoting, Charles!—if Kyrie Irving was in front of LeBron James right now, LeBron James would be tempted, quote, to beat his ass, end quote.”
LeBron James then tweeted that this wasn’t the case.
#NotFacts people! 🗣Boooo!! Get another source. 🤦🏾♂️. #EnjoyingMySummer #YouDoTheSame 😁😁😁 https://t.co/XvfRWKWdur

Now, the two met up for the first time since Kyrie’s trade request, and there wasn’t any drama. ESPN’s Tony Rizzo explained the situation for us.
“From very reliable sources. Plural. Kyrie and LeBron were in the same room over the weekend in Florida…Apparently these guys were in the same room and here’s the deal. I don’t know if there’s a thawing out process. All I do know is LeBron didn’t punch Kyrie the way Stephen A thought he would. I can report that. As for what they talked about or discussed…it was very cool. They didn’t get into any heated discussions.”
That’s the best way to handle the situation. Kyire and LeBron may very well be teammates in this coming season after all. The Cleveland Cavaliers said that they only trade Irving if they get one of their main targets in return (e.g Kristaps Porzignis, or Eric Bledsoe AND Josh Jackson). This does not seem to be possible at this time, meaning that Kyrie will indeed be a Cavalier, once the new season tips off. This could get very interesting.
