LeBron James Rips Jersey-Burning Fans
After Isaiah Thomas has been traded from the Boston Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers, some “fans” burned his Celtics jersey.
This just is beyond stupid. Burning the jersey of a guy who was traded. It was not Thomas’ decision to leave the Celtics. He actually expressed his loyalty and love for the franchise numerous times.
A guy who gave his all for the team. A guy who played the night after his younger sister tragically passed away. These people aren’t real fans.
Thomas’ new teammate LeBron James now took his thoughts to Twitter and is 100% right with everything.
“The burning of the jersey thing is getting ridiculous now! The man was traded. What do u not understand? & played in a game after [his] sister’s tragic death. Gordon Hayward paid his dues as well and decided to do what’s best for him and family. Put in the work, got better, became an All-Star, etc!! If these guys weren’t good, u guys would be the first to say “get them up out of here”. Man beat it! When “we” decide to do what best for us it’s “cowardly” “traitor”, etc but when it’s on the other side it’s “business” huh!?!? Ooh ok. Man do what u feel is best for your profession, love, family, happiness and continue to #StriveForGreatness“
I know that real Celtics fans wish Thomas all the best in Cleveland, because he was the heart of the franchise for the better part of two years.
