NBA Offseason Grades – Timberwolves & Pelicans

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES: A+

The Timberwolves had arguably the best off season in the entire league. It was an absolutely incredible summer for the organization, who improved massively all of a sudden. They acquired star wingman Jimmy Butler as well as former all-star Jeff Teague to form a formidable starting five along with Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. Throw in the additions of scoring machine Jamal Crawford, productive power forward Taj Gibson and veteran Aaron Brooks, the Wolves have a serious squad to be reckoned with this upcoming season. They’ve also recently resigned Shabazz Muhammad recently only adding to their depth. Look for the Timberwolves to make a run at a top 4 seed in the West when the season commences.

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS: A-

The Pelicans will be an interesting team to follow this season as they had a decent off season. They still boast the best front court in the entire league with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, but have added more playmaking to help them out as well. Welcoming Rajon Rondo is a great addition for the franchise, as he will be hand feeding both Cousins and Davis. They also have Jrue Holiday back healthy which will make them a lot better. Ian Clarke has joined the franchise off the bench and they recently signed defensive stopped Tony Allen before training camp began. They desperately needed three-point shooting, but the Pelicans have still done a good job this summer.
