Jeremy Lin On Joel Embiid: “He’s Worth Every Penny”
Philadelphia big man Joel Embiid’s max contract extension was one of the hottest topics in the last couple of days. When healthy, he’s proven to be worth the contract, but with Embiid, injuries are a red flag.
Through his first three NBA seasons, Embiid was only able to play 31 games, that’s 51 games less than former number one draft pick Greg Oden has played in his first three years. You all know how his career sadly ended before it began.
But even though Embiid has only played 51 career games, one can easily tell that he is a special talent. This is also what Jeremy Lin believes, whose Nets got abused by Embiid in his preseason debut. In only 14 minutes, Embiid put up 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. Brian Lewis of the New York Post talked to Lin, who thinks that Embiid is worth every penny.
“He commands a lot of attention and he’s super talented offensively. When healthy he’s worth every last penny of his new contract, and also got to the free-throw line a lot,” Nets guard Jeremy Lin said of Embiid’s new five-year, $148 million deal.
It seems like Jeremy Lin is trusting the process.
