Anthony Davis Knows That The Pelicans Will Be A Special Team
The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a mediocre start to the season. They won three games, but also lost three. What definitely hasn’t been mediocre, is the play of their two All-Star big men Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, who have been lights out to start the season.
Cousins is averaging a ridiculous 32.3 points, 13.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. Davis’ start hasn’t been too bad either with averages of 25.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.
The two are definitely the best big man duo in the league. This gives Anthony Davis enough reason to believe that the Pelicans will develop into something special through the course of this season.
“We’re going to be a special team, we feel it,” said Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, before correcting himself. “We don’t feel it, we know it.
The Pelicans just signed Josh Smith, and Rajon Rondo will also return from his injury sooner than later. This will allow Holiday to switch to the two and the Pelicans will have two excellent passers feeding their big men. With Davis and Cousins on your team, you’re poised to make the playoffs anyways.
