Chris Paul Will Be Back Tonight
Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul, who hasn’t played since the season opener because of his knee injury, is expected to be back on the court tonight. Paul is optimistic and “anxious” to come back today, in the Rockets’ game against the Suns. Head coach Mike D’Antoni told the Houston Cronicle:
“We don’t want to push it. If not Thursday, then we’ll see about Saturday (in Memphis). He worked out hard (Sunday). We’ll see how he feels Tuesday and Wednesday. That (having Paul play on Thursday) is what we’re shooting for.”
D’Antoni added that Paul will start, but likely have a 20-minute playing restriction in his comeback. The Rockets played incredibly well sans Paul, James Harden was back to playing the point and put up MVP numbers. While a comeback is great for Paul, and the Rockets, there are some concerns about how he’ll be able to co-exist with James Harden. But the two will figure it out eventually. They just are too good.
