Coach Hoiberg Excited After Seeing Zach LaVine Windmill Dunk During 3-On-3
Zach LaVine was the key prospect the Bulls acquired in the trade that send Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves. But the new face of the franchise hasn’t played a game yet. This will change in the near future.
The two-time NBA Dunk Contest champion suffered a torn ACL on February 3, and has been in recovery ever since. Before going down with the gruesome injury, LaVine was having a career year, averaging 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.9 steals on 46% from the field, 39% from 3 (6.6 attempts per game, 16th most in the NBA) and 83.6% from the line.
During the last couple of weeks, LaVine has made significant progress in his rehab as he has been participating in scrimmages and, ever since this past Monday, contact drills. Head coach Fred Hoiberg was excited when he saw Zach LaVine doing windmill dunks during 3-on-3 sessions.
Hoiberg said LaVine was doing windmill dunks in 3-on-3 session yesterday. “He got me excited,” Hoiberg said.

The Bulls are going to take it slow with LaVine nontheless. He probably won’t be back for another three weeks and even when coming back, Zach is going to have some restrictions until January or February. Still, it’s great to hear that one of the NBA’s most exciting players will be back soon.
