Erik Spoelstra Has Retained A Vacancy On His Staff For David Fizdale
Yesterday, in midst of an eight-game losing streak, the Memphis Grizzlies surprisingly fired their head coach, David Fizdale. This move shocked the entire NBA world, journalists, fans, and players like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Prior to becoming the Grizzlies’ head coach, Fizdale spent eight years (2008-2016) with the Miami Heat, winning two Champioships as an assistant coach. After the news broke, his former boss, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra made it known that he has retained a vacancy for his former assistant.
The Heat’s staff has not been filled completely ever since David Fizdale and Keith Smart’s move to the Grizzlies. Miami is in need of assistants for Spoelstra, and it seems like Fizdale could start working his old job as soon as he wants to.

Whether ‘Fiz’ accepts the offer, or is looking for employment elsewhere remains to be seen, but it’s always satisfying to know that you’re valued somewhere.
