Derrick Rose Doesn’t Give A F**k About His $80 Million Adidas Contract

After over two weeks, Cleveland point guard Derrick Rose is back with the team. Rose needed some time away to deal with his increasing frustration about his constant injury problems. Rose wasn’t even sure that he wants to continue playing.

But unlike last year, when Rose left his Knicks team without reaching out to team officials (teammates and fans were worried about where he may be), the former MVP was staying in contact with the franchise’s front office.

If Rose had decided to retire, he would have left over $80 million of Adidas endorsement money on the table. Some people thought that this was the main reason in Derrick Rose’s decision to come back.

But Rose insisted that his agreement with Adidas had nothing to do with his decision to continue playing.

“Man, I don’t care about — not to be rude — I don’t care about no f***ing money,” Rose told reporters, via ESPN.com’s Dave McMenamin. “It’s not about that. I’ve saved up enough money. It’s not about that. If I wanted to leave, I would have left. Like I said, coming back here, starting with rehab that’s my first step. Keeping it simple and just giving my team support and then I’ll see what I see off the court.”

Rose most likely is right about that. He has made more than $240 million in his 10-year playing career if you add up the advertising deals. So yeah, he probably doesn’t need the money.
