D’Angelo Russell Was T’d Up For Clapping On The Bench

In 2007, NBA referee Joey Crawford was involved in a strange incident. He ejected Tim Duncan for laughing from the bench at a couple of his foul calls in a game against the Dallas Mavericks. Duncan said that Crawford even challenged him to a fight after the technicals.

Flash forward a little more than 10 years. The Brooklyn Nets played the New York Knicks, and something similar happened. Nets guard D’Angelo Russell was clapping from the bench to show his lack of understanding about an official’s call. It really wasn’t all that bad or dramatic, but referee Brian Forte thought differently and gave Russell, who is still recovering from knee surgery, a technical foul.

This definitely won’t help the referees’ position in their feud with the players.
