Russell Westbrook Outraged About Paul George Not Making All-Star Team
Yesterday, when the All-Star reserves were announced, some expected names were missing. Paul George being one of them.
George who has been part of an All-Star team four times in the last five years (the one missing was the year of his horrific leg injury), was expected to be named an All-Star again. On top of leading the league in steals per game (2.1), George is averaging 20.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Not making the All-Star Game with stats like this is something that probably wouldn’t have happened, had he stayed in Indiana.
PG’s teammate Russell Westbrook, who will be an All-Star again, wasn’t happy about George not being named an All-Star and vented a little in his post game interview:
“Unbelievable, it’s outrageous. I don’t know who else made the team, I know that four people from one team, or guys complaining about getting snubbed… they get in, guys that talk about it all the time. But guys who deserve to be in are not… I just don’t understand. A guy that leads the league in steals, competes every night, top two at his position, it don’t make any sense regardless of anything else. There are certain All-Stars in this league… everybody is not an All-Star just because you get voted in. But it is what it is…”
