Up To 10 NBA Teams Are Expected To Change Coaches This Coming Offseason
Last season was a rarity in the NBA, as every team ended the season with the same coach it started the season with. More so, every NBA team started this season with the same coach it started last season with.
This obviously changed this season, Earl Watson, David Fizdale and Jason Kidd were fired, and it might change even more dramatically this coming offseason. According to Howard Beck, at least six to eight team, possibly as many as 10, will be hiring new head coaches this offseason.
Three of which, obviously are the three teams who fired their coach over the course of this season. The Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks. Other teams rumored to possibly wanting a change on the coaching position are the New York Knicks (whose coach always is in the hot seat) and Orlando Magic. That would be five teams.
What other coach could be in jeopardy? Van Gundy? Clifford? Hoiberg? A real surprise? We’ll have to wait and see.
