Well, that’s a pretty dumb way to lose your job.

San Francisco’s KGO-TV sports anchor Mike Shumann was caught stealing a jacket from Warriors’ team security director Ralph Walker during a Warriors practice before Game 4 in San Antonio. ESPN cameras apparently filmed the ‘theft’ at San Antonio’s AT&T Center.

Shumann, a former wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, was sent home from San Antonio after the incident was revealed and isn’t part of the broadcasting team anymore (for now).

His employer KGO even has an agreement with the Golden State Warriors for exclusive player interviews. These interviews have usually been done by Shuman. After the incident though, several players were mad and are now refusing to do the interviews with KGO.

Losing an amazing job over stealing a jacket is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard in a while. Then again, he used to play in the NFL and has probably taken his share of blows to the head.
