Chris Paul’s Brother CJ Mistakenly Got Kicked Out Of Arena

Last night’s Game 4 between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets was kind of a strange game. The Rockets pulled ahead early, the Jazz continuously went on mini runs, trying to close the gap.

They came close a couple of times, but never really made it thanks to Chris Paul and Clint Capela. Paul had a great game and finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists on a night, that also was his birthday night.

This is the reason members of his family were in the arena. One of them, his brother CJ, was ejected from the game. At the time, people didn’t know it was Paul’s brother, who didn’t do anything wrong. A guy next to him had made some inappropriate comments towards referee James Williams. The comment was mistakenly attributed to CJ, leading to him getting kicket out.

Eventually, the mistake was made right, and CJ Paul was allowed back in. He later talked to USA TODAY and explained what happened:

“The guy next to me called (referee James Williams) a (expletive), but they thought it was me,” C.J., who played collegiately at Hampton University and University of South Carolina-Upstate, told USA TODAY Sports. “The thing is, I know James. He reffed me in college. But (the security guard) comes up to me, and says ‘Hey, we need to talk to you in the back.’ I said, ‘for what?’ I told them what happened. I don’t talk like that.”
