Like JR, ESPN Radio’s Commentator Celebrated Cavs’ Win After Smith Dribbled It Out
The game was tied with 4.7 seconds left in the 4th quarter, after George Hill missed a potential game-winning free-throw. JR Smith grabbed the offensive rebound, but instead of attempting a game-winning shot, or passing the ball, JR dribbled the ball out of the paint allowing the clock to run out, thinking that the Cavs had the lead. OVERTIME! The Cavaliers eventually lost and JR Smith became the lonliest man in the entire country.
But the funniest and most unbelievable thing is that he wasn’t the only one who forgot what the score was during the final seconds of regulation. ESPN Radio’s Mark Kestecher also had no idea that the game was tied, and joined JR Smith’s brain breeze club while being live on air.
“Rebounded by Smith, two seconds to go. He dribbles out, they gotta foul him, they can’t get him. The Cavaliers on the road stunning the Golden State Warriors in Game 1.”
