Mutual Interest Between Jamal Crawford And The Golden State Warriors

Earlier this week, Jamal Crawford declined his $4.5 million player option with the Minnesota Timberwolves, to become a free-agent on July 1.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe now reports that Crawford and the Warriors have mutual interest, but aren’t on one page when it comes to the salary. Crawford apparently wants to earn more than the veteran’s minimum the Warriors are offering.

But, the NBA’s three time 6th man of the year winner does not have a ring, and might accept less money in order to get one. To do so, there isn’t a better option than the Warriors.

There is some mutual interest between the Warriors and Jamal Crawford in a potential minimum deal, sources say. He might want more than the minimum. It’s unclear if the Warriors will use their mini-midlevel exception, but if they do, it likely will not be on Crawford.

Warriors fans would be in for some highlight plays, by one of the league’s flashiest players. It would also be a coming back for Crawford, who played 54 games for the Warriors during the 2008-09 season after being traded from New York. He averaged 19.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
