Jimmy Butler Wants Timberwolves Fans To Boo Him
Last month, news broke that Wolves All-Star Jimmy Butler wanted out of Minnesota and demanded a trade. Ever since, he had been absent from team practices and other activities. Until this past week!
Jimmy Butler surprisingly showed up to Minnesota Timberwolves practice and took out his frustrations on his teammates, coaches and general manager Scott Layden. Butler even teamed up with the third string players, to take on the starters in scrimmages, and beat them, while trash-talking them in the process.
Since then, things have calmed down a littler and, according to the Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and Jimmy Butler came to an agreement that Taylor will continue to find a trade as soon as possible. Until that happens, Butler will be a good teammate and play as hard as he always does.
But regardless of that, Jimmy Butler now urged Timberwolves fans to boo him when the season starts.
“Sure. Go ahead, boo me. It ain’t going to change the way I play. That’s going to make me smile more. So please, come on with it.”
Asked Jimmy Butler if he expects negative reaction on Friday (if he’s still here):
