LeBron James Is Ignoring Luke Walton’s Playcalls
Team officials and the front office probably already knew that this was coming at some point when signing LeBron James. It is his team now. With James you’ll not only get a point forward, but also a head coach.
What happened to Tyronn Lue is now happening to Luke Walton. According to various reports, James is disregarding orders and ignoring playcalls from the Lakers’ actual head coach. The most incredible thing about it? Every other player would get fined or would at least be in some kind of trouble, but in LeBron’s case, his behavior gets accepted and the coach is stepping down on his own at times. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed:
“Scouts also have noticed that when James is running the point, he rarely looks toward the bench to receive playcalls from coach Luke Walton. Even when he has seen them, the scouts say, he ignores them and runs the play he prefers. Walton has adjusted, and now when James is running the show, Walton will typically just let him call the game,”
Last night was a dud in Denver no doubt. But the Lakers & LeBron James have been much better since he junked his offseason plan & took his usual control of his team: https://t.co/JyC5T6b4Dw
