All Time Scoring List: Dirk Nowitzki Has Intentions Of Chasing LeBron James
Dirk Nowitzki knew that it was inevitable. Then, on October 27, LeBron James passed him on the NBA’s all time scoring list.
While the two have the utmost respect for one another (LeBron previously said Dirk is one of his favorite players of all-time), Dirk, who’s made his season debut the other night against the Suns, setting an NBA record in playing his 21st season with the same team, revealed that he has intentions of chasing James. Dirk wants his number 6 position back, also because the merchandise would already be ready. That’s what he told New York Times’ Marc Stein:
“I’m probably going to tell him when I see him that I’m going to try to catch him, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen. The good thing is, like our P.R. guy Scott Tomlin always tells me, when I finally get back to No. 6, we’ve got all the merchandise already made — all the T-shirts, all the bobbleheads, all the gear. So it’s a perfect situation.”
While Dirk obviously is joking, he can easily bring back that merchandise, soon. He won’t be #7 for too long. That doesn’t mean he’ll pass LeBron though. Nowitzki only needs 230 points to move ahead of Wilt Chamberlain, to regain his #6 position.
