Gregg Popovich Slaps Himself In The Face After Reporter’s Question
Gregg Popovich has been the San Antonio Spurs for 22-straight years now, and it is safe to say that he’s one of the most respected coaches in the league.
He has led the Spurs to a winning record in each of his 21 full seasons as a head coach, and led the Spurs to all five of their NBA titles. But Popovich is currently facing what may be his hardest challenge as a coach – reinventing the San Antonio Spurs after two decades of Duncan, Manu and Parker.
The team is struggling right now, but thankfully, this hasn’t stopped him from being his old-self when it comes to answering questions by the media.
After the Spurs’ loss in New York against the worst team in the league last night, Popvich was back at it when talking to members of the media, and even angrily slapped himself in the face.
“I said that we were pathetic on defense, what do you want me to do? Would you like me to slit my throat? Or beat myself up?”
This is an new one. Gregg Popovich began slapping himself when i asked him about giving up 130 points to the Knicks. “I said it was pathetic, what do you want me to slit my throat?”
