Clippers Announcers Joke About Robert “Tractor” Traylor, Forgetting That He Died

Oh man, this is tough!

During Monday night’s game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks, the Clippers’ broadcast team had a major mishap.

When talking about Dirk Nowitzki, they brought up Robert Traylor, who was initially drafted by the Dallas Mavericks with the sixth pick of the 1998 NBA Draft. Shortly after, Trailer was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Pat Garrity and Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk and the Mavs, the rest is history.

While talking about the draft day trade, the announcers were jokingly wondering what team Traylor was playing for these days:

“Who’s he playing for now?” asked MacLean.

“The, uh, Detroit YMCA over-40 league,” joked Lawler.

The tragic thing is, Traylor suffered a heart attack and tragically died in 2011 at the young age of 34. The broadcasting team was informed of their mistake and apologized for their misunderstanding.
