Dwyane Wade Appreciated Purple Shirt Guy After Final Career Game In Charlotte

2016 NBA Playoffs. Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Hornets. Dwyane Wade dominated the final minutes of Game 6 and rubbed it in the face of a heckling Hornets fan, infamously known as ‘Purple Shirt Guy’.

Late in the fourth quarter, Wade did have enough of the guy’s constant insults, and decided to have some revenge on the court. After Wade hit the dagger, he locked eyes with Purple Shirt Guy, and Mark Jackson perfectly commented the situation.

This past Wednesday, Wade played his final career game in Charlotte, but Purple Shirt Guy was nowhere to be found. Wade talked about him after the game nonetheless, and appreciates him being part of his legacy:

“It’s definitely a cool moment, a cool story,” Wade said. “I appreciate [‘Purple Shirt Guy’] for being a part of the story because he’s added to the legend of my career.”
