Dirk Nowitzki On Passing Wilt Chamberlain: ‘There Were Times I thought I’m Not Going To Make It’
He’s finally done it!
Last night, Dirk Nowitzki moved back into 6th place on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring List, passing Wilt Chamberlain.
Yet another milestone for the 7-foot German, who’s had an NBA career like very few have had before him.
Dirk has led the Mavericks to 15 playoff appearances, including the franchise’s first Finals appearance in 2006 and its only NBA championship in 2011. He was the NBA’s MVP in 2007, and the Finals MVP in 2011. Nowitzki is the only player ever to play for a single franchise for 21 seasons. Nowitzki is a 14-time All-Star, and a 12-time All-NBA Team member. Once he’s retired and eligible, he’ll definitely become a first-ballot hall of famer.
In yesterday’s post-game press conference, Dirk Nowitzki talked about passing Wilt, and his feeling of possibly not achieving feat after his injury.
