Joel Embiid After G3 Blowout: “Chemistry Is Overrated”
Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers was overwhelmingly dominated by Joel Embiid who finished the game with 33 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 blocks.
The surprisingly clear victory of the Sixers may be a sign of things to come from the team in these playoffs, as it only was the 16th game with their starting lineup of death consisting of Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid.
But if we believe Joel Emiid, it doesn’t matter how many games a team has played together, or even if there’s great chemistry. As long as there is talent and unselfishness, chemistry is overrated:
“Chemistry is overrated. When you have great basketball players on the floor, it’s easy. It’s not that complicated. We’re all willing passers. We’re so unselfish. We understand that it’s all about moving the ball. We don’t ever want to get into situations where one guy has the ball and try to create. We know that we need to move the ball, and it just makes it easier.”
