Greg Oden Graduates From Ohio State 12 Years After His Final Season As A Buckeye
Greg Oden is one of those “what could have been” NBA stories.
Oden earned the status of potential superstar big man as he excelled at the high school and college level, but numerous knee injuries and trouble off the court quickly derailed the hopes of the big man.
After being drafted number one by the Portland Trailblazers in 2007, Oden was so highly regarded he was selected ahead of big names Kevin Durant, Mike Conley and Al Horford. Needless to say, he now holds the mantle for perhaps the biggest NBA bust of all time.
But, Oden is off to a successful second career. After he has called it a career in late 2016, Oden returned to his collegiate family at Ohio State, where he was majoring in sports industry and helping players out as a student coach. This past Sunday, the former number one pick has graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in sport industry, 12 years after his last season as a Buckeye. Congrats Greg!
🎓 The big man is officially a member of the greatest alumni base in the world.
