Dennis Schröder Challenges Klay Thompson As The NBA’s Best Skater
Both Skateboarding and Basketball are more than just a sport, as a whole sub-culture has developed behind either sport.
But that’s about it when talking similarities between the two sports. Golden State Warriors’ sharpshooter Klay Thompson though, appears to be an expert in both.
Last year, Klay told SLAM Magazine that he was the best skater in the NBA:
“I wouldn’t say I’m nasty, but I’m probably the best NBA player on a skateboard. I’m contractually obligated not to skate anymore, but I’ll go out on a limb and say I’ve probably still got it.”
Back then, Thompson even was backed up by star skater Ryan Sheckler, who confirmed his talent on the deck:
“There are people that say they can skate, but Klay could really skate, dude.”
There was no other NBA player trying to take the best skater in the NBA title away from Klay… until now – Oklahoma City Thunder’s Dennis Schröder.
Even more so, Schröder doesn’t appear to be contractually obligated to not skate, and put up some impressive footage of him skating on his Instagram Story the other day, backing up his claim:
