‘Diva To The Max’ – Kendrick Perkins Goes Off On Kristaps Porzingis

In what might have been the biggest trade of the year, the New York Knicks traded Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee and Trey Burke to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews and two first round draft picks.

While everybody was impatiently waiting on a possible trade of Anthony Davis, nobody had a Kristaps Porzingis trade in mind. But it did happen and the Mavericks were able to land another star with a similar skillset to prime Dirk.

Porzingis, who sat out the entire year, while recovering from a torn ACL is fully healthy now and without limitations when the Mavericks start their training camp.

Many believe that a healthy Porzingis, paired with (likely) Rookie of the Year, Luka Doncic, will be one of the best duos in the NBA going forward, and a force to be reckoned with.

Former NBA big man, Kendrick Perkins is not one of the many though. While discussing the Knicks’ situation on ESPN’s “The Jump”, Perk revealed his true feelings about Porzingis (starting at 1:11 in the video below).

“I’ve just never been high on a big man that’s a diva, and I feel like he’s a diva to the max. I could name 20 players that I’d take over Porzingis right now in this league. … I think they made the right decision. They got him up out of there, with all the off-court issues.”
