Giannis Antetokounmpo Doesn’t Want To Be Called ‘MVP’ Anymore

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s journey from struggling at a young age, even hustling on the streets to support his family, to becoming the NBA’s MVP is special and unlike any other.

But while most people would flex with their MVP title, Giannis does the opposite. From today on, he asks people to not call him the MVP.

At an MVP celebration event for himself in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo asked the crowd to stop calling him MVP and explained why:

“After this day, July 14, please, please, please do me a huge favor, so I can be better, I can be a better player, so I can bring this city a championship. Please don’t call me MVP. Listen, listen, listen, listen. Please, after this day, don’t call me MVP until I win it again next year.”
