Australian Broadcaster Blasts Ben Simmons For Ignoring Fans, Backing Out Of Commitments

Australia’s biggest sports personality, NBA star Ben Simmons, has made lots of people mad by reportedly leaving hundreds of children devastated after sneaking away from a basketball camp, refusing to sign autographs or take pictures.

Simmons himself hosted two training sessions for kids aged seven to 17 at Hills in Sydney, before snubbing the fans who were waiting infront of the gym. This and the fact that Simmons withdrew from Team Australia for the World Cup, after previously stating that he would be part of said team, caused news.com.au radio broadcaster Alan Jones to blast Simmons.

“He had promised to play for Australia at the upcoming World Cup only to pull out due to scheduling issues. He withdrew from the warm up games even though fans had spent hundreds of dollars hoping to watch him play,”

When it came to snubbing the fans, Jones said:

“I’m told he held two training camps for junior basketball players in Sydney and Melbourne. I understand that when he arrived he walked straight past the fans, who had been waiting for hours, he refused to sign autographs or say hello.”
