Exclusive – Joe Harris Discusses His Role For Team USA And The Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn Nets sharp shooter Joe Harris is enjoying his time with Team USA as he prepares for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Harris along with his USA teammates are in Melbourne, Australia preparing for the World Cup in China as they’ll play two games against the Australian National Team on August 22nd and 24th.

It’s Harris’s first time with Team USA, and it’s well deserved as the Virginia product continues to grow his reputation around the NBA following being crowned the three-point champion at All Star weekend and being a key factor in the Nets playoff run last season.

Following the Nets successful campaign the franchise has undergone massive changes this summer with the departure of All Star D’Angelo Russell and the acquisition of stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving along with veteran big man DeAndre Jordan.

Despite the upgrade in talent and expectation with the Nets roster, Harris believes his role will be pretty much the same moving forward.

“To be honest, my role will probably stay pretty consistent, you know what I do in this league and even on this team is help create space for good players guys that are able to facilitate with the ball and then knock down open shots and then try to be that glue guy all the intangible stuff, a lot of the hussle plays the mental stuff out there whether it be keeping guys off the glassier making plays defensively just being solid.”

Harris is a prime example of a guy knowing his role in the NBA and doing all the little things in order for the team to be successful. The 27 year old may not be the biggest name on the roster, but he will no doubt be an integral part of their success moving forward both with the National Team and the Nets as they both embark on two of the biggest prizes the basketball world has to offer.
