Stephen A. Smith: ‘LeBron James Is Going To Be A Monster This Year’
2018’s offseason started with a bang, as the LeBron era in Cleveland had come to an end after James signed a four-year, $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The balance of power in the East shifted due to the trade, as the Cleveland Cavaliers went from being a contender to becoming a lottery team. And in the West, so people thought, the Lakers had become contenders.
We all know better now! The Lakers didn’t improve and missed the playoffs once again. Something that has become a reality for Lakers fans and players, but is a rarity for LeBron James. You can see it was bothering him, it had been bothering him all season long.
But, things in Laker land are about to change for good. Anthony Davis is aboard and it his highly unlikely for LeBron to miss the playoffs for a seconds straight year.
This and the fact that, for the first time in over a decade, LeBron James is well rested and had all summer to prepare for the new season, causes a lot of optimism from Lakers fans and the media.
Stephen A. Smith for example believes that James is going to be a monster this year.
“LeBron, 6-9, 260, oh by the way, first time hasn’t been in the Finals in nine years. Now he got off in April, people talkin’ smack about him. I think LeBron gonna be a monster this year.”
