Bam Adebayo To Face Off Against Kobayashi In Burger-Eating Competition

Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo has had somewhat of a breakout season last year. The Heat rewarded him with the starting center position for this coming season, after trading away Hassan Whiteside.

Earlier this week the team even picked up his fourth-year option, now having Adebayo under contract until after the 2020-21 season.

Bam is a great defender and rebounder, which also led to him becoming a McDonald’s All-American in High School. While defending and rebounding aren’t needed for Bam’s next project, going to McDonalds could be part of the training routing.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Adebayo plans to face off against Guinness World Record holding professional eater, Takeru Kobayashi, in a Burger-off for a good cause.

Per the Sun-Sentinel:

“Wednesday’s event, which begins at 11 a.m. and is being promoted by BurgerFi and Feeding South Florida, comes as part of Hunger Action Month. In addition to Adebayo and Guinness world-record holder Takeru Kobayashi, the event will feature former Miami Hurricanes great and NFL star Russell Maryland.

The competitors will tackle six single BurgerFi Cheeseburgers with Kraft-Heinz signature Mayochup (ketchup, mayonnaise and a special blend of spices), while Kobayashi will take on 18 single BurgerFi cheeseburgers in the five-minute contest. BurgerFi will donate $100 for every cheeseburger eaten — up to $5,000 — to Feeding South Florida.”
