Back To Bricks: Ben Simmons’ Offseason Jumper Was A Fluke

Ben Simmons’ first two NBA seasons have been one of the best rookie and sophomore seasons in recent history. Everyone who was watching him play, knows that he could develop into a generational type of star. He’s got all the assets one needs to become that superstar in this league, besides a decent jumpshot.

This led to opponents not guarding Simmons’ three point shot at all, at times. In these two seasons, Simmons still hasn’t made a three point shot. But in this past offseason, he was putting focus on his jumper and three point shot.

We all thought it seems to have worked. First when we saw footage of Simmons drilling threes and even half court shots, then he all of a sudden made a three in the NBA preseason. Sixers fans were stoked for the season, opponents already scared.

But now it all seems to be back to normal. Simmons has attempted just one three pointer this season, which he missed, leaving him still with zero career three pointers. Judging from this pregame warmups footage, it certainly looks like the offseason was a fluke, as Simmons was back to throwing up bricks.
