Raptors Won’t Give Championship Rings To Valanciunas, Wright And Miles

After winning the first championship in franchise history, the Toronto Raptors not only awarded their players, coaches and team staff with championship rings, but also their superfans, Nav Bhatia and Drake.

This is a very questionable decision considering that the Raptors won’t be giving out rings to Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright and CJ Miles, who were involved in the trade that brought Marc Gasol to Toronto. Just a little reminder THE RAPTORS traded THEM!

All three of these players played more than half of the championship season, and had been Raptors players for a while, especially Valanciunas.

Raptors General Manager, Bobby Webster confirmed that the three won’t be getting rings.

“It’s not an easy decision, but, to be honest, I think it’s standard. I mean we did our homework, we talked to teams and I think… I don’t remember… there was maybe one scenario where a team offered one. I think it was Anderson Varejao in Golden State but I think it was a really unique circumstance.”

I really think that the Raptors’ decision is disappointing, especially in Jonas’ case. But all three definitely contributed more to the Raptors championship than Drake.
