Brooklyn Nets Unveil Fire Looking 2019-20 City Edition Jersey
A little over 23 years ago, on March 9, 1997, Christopher George Latore Wallace (aka Notorious B.I.G) was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.
Biggie was one of the best artists to ever exist in hip hop music, and there are not many people who embodied the city of Brooklyn more than the Big Poppa.
The Brooklyn Nets have honored Wallace regularly and celebrate ‘Biggie Night’ once a year. Their City Edition jersey from last season was inspired by Biggie and the vibrant sweaters he was known to wear. The jerseys easily were one of the best looking NBA jerseys out there.
Thankfully, the Nets stayed true to their Biggie theme for another season and revealed the next fire looking City Editon Jerseys.
Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood was the borough of The Notorious B.I.G, and the “BED-STUY” on the jersey is meant to represents the neighborhood’s history, music, art, & culture.
