Zion Williamson Still Isn’t Close To Return
In this year’s preseason, number one draft pick, Zion Williamson, injured his right knee, the same knee he suffered an injury on during his time at Duke. After a successful surgery, he was expected to miss around six weeks.
It has now been eight weeks since Williamson underwent surgery to repair the torn lateral meniscus in his right knee, but according to the Pelicans’ latest injury reports, and the following Alvin Gentry statement, it doesn’t sound like Williamson is even close to return:
“He’s doing some stuff with us in practice, but we’re taking it slow. He’s working his butt off to get back on the court. We’ll put him out there when he’s ready to play. It’s not going to be any big rush.”
