NBA Twitter Rips ESPN For Using Kobe’s Death As Reason For LeBron To Win MVP
Since LeBron James led his Los Angeles Lakers to impressive wins against the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers in the past week, he’s been getting some more MVP considerations by fans and media alike.
While it indeed is impressive what James is doing at age 35, every metric and statistic in terms of value for a team has Giannis Antetokounmpo as the clear front-runner for the award.
It is definitely okay to still think James is the MVP, especially when you look at his personal stats, and him leading the league in assists, but thinking LeBron should win the award because he has been dealing with the tragic death of Kobe Bryant is wrong. That’s why ESPN and, ‘The Jump’ especially got ripped by NBA Twitter.

They want Lebron to be mvp so bad they keep using Kobe’s death as an argument. Fuck the jump. How does Giannis feel a national tv show is saying He didn’t go through pain https://t.co/Imsq0RrDyZ

@mcten We already know citing Kobe's death for Lebron's MVP case is a pretty lousy thing to do. Adding that he "navigated the China controversy" as another is perhaps worse. Lebron's attitudes towards China's human rights record are self-serving and reprehensible.

Like they do know Giannis Kobe use to workout together right🤔
I’ve never seen ppl try to use a man’s death to elevate someone’s else’s stature and it’s sickening.
Kobe family is navigating those difficulties not LeBron. Kyrie is navigating those difficulties @stephenasmith https://t.co/7A5g392os9

1. Navigating controversy? LeBron basically said fuck it China do what you want as long as I continue to get paid
2. Kobe’s death shouldn’t used as a narrative when trying to argue lebron’s case for MVP. Let that man RIP.
3. This man brought up nothing about real stats

@mcten is a flaming pile of shit for using Kobe’s death to plead a case for Lebron as MVP.
