Carmelo Anthony Reveals Story Of How LeBron James Once Saved His Life
Back in 2003, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were drafted with the first and third picks in the NBA Draft. The two had been friends long before their NBA days and remained good friends throughout their respective NBA careers. Alongside Kyle Korver, the two are the only players of their class to still play in the league today.
But did you know that LeBron James once saved Carmelo Anthony’s life?
In an Instagram live session on Dwyane Wade’s channel, Melo explained how he, while vacationing together in the Caribbean, jumped off the boat during a tour to take a better look at the island. The strong current had him float off into the middle of the ocean, with the boat getting far, far away.
But just as Anthony thought that he was about to drown, LeBron jumped off the boat and brought him back with one arm, in true MacGyver style.
“LeBron jumps off the boat like MacGyver. He was swimming with one arm and bringing me back with the other. LeBron I appreciate you. You saved my life that day.”
