Michael Jordan Once Skipped A White House Visit To Gamble With A Drug Dealer

Ahead of the premiere of ESPN Films and Netflix’s joint production ‘The Last Dance’, a 10-part documentary about Michael Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls, this coming Sunday, more and more amazing and ridiculous Michael Jordan stories are coming back to surface.

Jordan, who was involved in the production that will mainly focus on the Bulls’ 1997-98 season, already said that people will likely think he’s a bad guy after watching the documentary.

The portrait of Michael Jordan as the bad guy also resurfaced in an insane story that took place after the Chicago Bulls’ first championship in 1991.

While the entire Bulls roster visited the White House and shot baskets with president George H.W. Bush, Jordan was absent.

With a previously scheduled family vacation given as an official excuse, the most Michael Jordan reason ever, was the true cause of his absence – golfing and gambling with drug dealer James ‘Slim’ Bouler. Per Yahoo Sports:

“In fact, Jordan was golfing (and gambling) with James ‘Slim’ Bouler, a drug dealer who would eventually be convicted for money laundering.

The federal government seized a check from Jordan to Bouler for $57,000. which Jordan originally claimed was for a loan.

The Bulls champion later testified in court that the money was for what he had lost gambling on golf with Bouler.”
