James Worthy Joins GOAT Debate, Picks Jordan But Says He’s Never Seen A Player Like LeBron 

In his 12-years in the NBA, James Worthy was able to share the court with some of the greatest players in history. He was fortunate enough to play with Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with whom he won three championships in Los Angeles.

Worthy has also matched up against the most polarizing all-time greats including Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas and the widely regarded GOAT, Michael Jordan.

But among the best athletes and most dominant players he has witnessed in his entire career, Worthy has made it known that nobody in their era comes close to LeBron James’ physicality. During a segment on the ‘Inside the Green Room’ podcast with Danny Green, the Lakers legend offered some high praise for his fellow Laker. 

“We’ve never seen a physical physique like LeBron James. LeBron James had it since he came into the league, I mean he could go play middle linebacker or tight end for the Dallas Cowboys right now.”

But when Danny Green talked about the Greatest of All-Time debate and asked Worthy to choose from either LeBron or Jordan, Big Game James appeared to take the side of his former North Carolina Tar Heels teammate.

“It’s tough man, I’m winning with either one… If I had to make my choice, I’m going with MJ because I played with him. I know he’s deadly, and I don’t think there’s anybody in the league today that has the tenacity that he had. Michael’s not nice. I don’t know man, I love LeBron. I’m going to have to go with my boy, ‘cause he chose me.”

For obvious reasons, Worthy has every right to choose the Chicago Bulls legend. Not only because they were former teammates and opponents, but also because Jordan has the resume to back it up.

On the other hand, LeBron probably still has a long way to go to catch Jordan, but seeing that a basketball legend like James Worthy regards LeBron in the same conversation, may be a testament to how far LeBron has come thus far.
